Childrens-Teeth-01

We recommend that children come to the practice with their parents as soon as possible. This gets them familiar to us and our surroundings and prepares them for future visits. The earlier they come to see us at the practice the more relaxed they will become.

Examinations for children up to 16 years old are free if a parent is a regular patient of the practice. As a practice we believe in prevention, and will advise hygienist appointments where necessary as they are important to help your child keep their mouths healthy.

Children’s milk teeth can start to come through at about 6 months old. Children’s first permanent back teeth appear from around 6 years old, and are called molars. Milk teeth start to fall out at around 6-7 years old, and then the permanent teeth replace all the baby teeth by the age of about 13 years. All children are different and develop at different rates.
