About snoring

Snoring tends to be caused by partial closure of your airway during sleep.

A number of factors increase the chances of being a snorer. These include:

  • individual physiology - some of us are more inclined to snore than others
  • sex - men have more tissue round their necks and are more likely to snore
  • excess body weight - more pressure on your throat can lead to snoring
  • age - muscles relax as one gets older, increasing the tendency to snore
  • lifestyle - snoring is likely after drinking alcohol, taking sleeping pills or smoking

Snoring can mean:

  • lack of sleep (for you and your partner) - this could lead to accidents at work or while driving
  • increased blood pressure through lack of oxygen
  • headaches
  • reduced sex drive
  • increased risk of diabetes
  • relationship issues

With all these potential problems, it's definitely worthwhile you doing something about it if you snore!

We can help people stop snoring, so give us a call or drop by sometime and we'll show you our technique!
